LAOH Division 23 President's Letter

Hope everyone is having a nice summer. Our next meeting is Friday, September 11, 2009. I am hoping for a great turn out. Our meeting time is 8:00 p.m. and it will last about a half hour, with our monthly drawing that will follow at 9 p.m. Anyone interesting in joining can come to our meeting and be installed. The LAOH and AOH Div 23 picnic is going to be on Saturday, September 19th (details will be given out at the September meeting). It's a great time for you and your family. At the meeting we will give you the date for our 11th Annual Pub Crawl for Charity, this is the function we have every year that builds our charity fund. In the past years we have given money to the deceased members of the LAOH/AOH (New York) who gave their lives in the September 11 attack. We have donated to hurricane victims from Katrina, & people who were affected in Etna and Millvale. We have given money to the Race for the Cure, the Junior Diabetes Society, the St. Matthew's Christian Mothers, Junior Achievement, St. Vincent DePauls, Jerry's kids (thru Father Joe), and a big supporter of St. Mathew's functions and fundraiser's. We adopt families for Xmas, and also gave over $500.00 in gift certificates to St. Matthew's to use for those parishioners who need assistance with food each year. So as you can see, we put the charity fund to good use. We are a powerful division with so much to give, it would not be possible without dedicated members like you. One person does not make LAOH Division 23 a success, we are successful because we have great members, ones that care about our heritage. Let's make this coming year a success. Each month I will note various events that happen in our division, we will acknowledge accomplishments, births, marriages, anything of interest in our division. It will be a great way to share. Looking forward to seeing you at the September meeting.
